The ACCESS Project, conceived by RAM - Rete Autostrade Mediterranee and its European partners, foresees the activation of a database able to manage the necessary information in a secure and protected way, in order to facilitate the loading of trucks that carry goods and to extend it to all the active lines in the Mediterranean sea.

In particular, the system presents the following functions:

• It gives the frequency and the respective timetables,
• It manages the loading process, from booking to the trip documents emission;
• It links ship-port-ship owner-agent-client, computerizing all the processes related with the maritime intermodality (i.e. telepass).

The ACCESS system guarantees to the road carriers and logistic operators sector an open and homogeneous architecture which foresees huge possibilities for integrations at single port's level.

Therefore, ACCESS constitutes the reference system and the aggregative standard for the information management supporting Mediterranean Motorways of the Sea.

Currently the ACCESS system is achieved and validated by some ship owners, but the consensual process has to be completed in order to make the system operative.
